Broome is in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia.
Situated on the banks
of the Yanko Creek.
• 300 poll shorthorn cows would (in a normal year) run on just over 1100 hectares (3330 acres).
Predominantly native pasture with 300 acres of irrigated pasture.
Temperature ranges from 2°C ( 39°F) to up to 45°C (113°F)
Average annual rainfall of 350 mm (14").

Bred 3 National Champions (Dubbo Shorthorn Nationals)
Was the
first female to judge shorthorns at a royal show in Australia.
She
has three children David ('68), Wendy ('71) & Richard ('73)
Managed
Broome without paid help, other than her many dogs, the occasional visit from
a vet, pregnancy tester or scanner necessary for performance recording, and the
odd international work experience student.
In 2003 David came back
to the farm with his wife Terri and their family to assist.
Gillian
has been nominated for two Australian Rural Woman of the Year Awards.
Nominated for a NSW Premier's senior achievement award in the Business Mentoring
Category.
